A DMO (Destination Marketing Organization) from a famous seaside location decided to improve its promotional strategy during winter fairs.

In the past, during winter fairs, the DMO used paper forms that participants filled out by hand. This is the process the organization implemented to improve data collection and personalize the visitor experience:
- Multilingual online form: Visitors used an online form available in three different languages (Italian, English, and German) to enter their personal details, such as name, surname, city of residence and origin, and email. Additionally, they could select activities that best matched their passions (sailing, diving, culture, biking, and much more!). All in just a few simple clicks.
- Immediate access via QR code: Inside the exhibition stands, the DMO displayed a QR code on screens and graphic panels with a clear message: “Scan the QR code and get the perfect guide for your vacation right away!”. Visitors, after scanning the code, could fill out the form directly from their smartphone, avoiding the hassle of filling out paper forms.
- Automatic sending of personalized content: Once the form was completed, participants received personalized tourism materials (such as PDF guides) by email, based on the preferences they had indicated, such as trekking or diving.
The digital collection of contacts at the fair thus proved to be a clever solution for managing tourism events.
